Be friendly and helpful
Customers visit the City Market first and foremost because it’s an experience they can’t get at the grocery store or the mall. Making sure each customer has a pleasant experience will ensure his or her return.

Use signage
Design a banner or sign for your booth so customers remember you even if your stall is in a different location. If you don’t have a business name, name it after your merchandise.

Display prices
Customers are used to seeing prices on things. They may be drawn away to some other booth because you were busy with another customer and they were not able to inquire about prices. Make prices neat, clear and big enough to see from fifteen feet away. City Market Management can provide blank price cards for Vendors at no charge.

Hand out flyers and business cards
Help customers remember who you are and what you sell. Hand out flyers to describe your product. This is particularly helpful if you have something unusual or if the cost is too high to appeal to impulse buyers. If you can stand the loss of home privacy or have a business phone, give out your number to customers. Take special orders during the week.
